The Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting a capable and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in a Year 3 class at a community-focused Westminster primary school. The position begins immediately and is confirmed through to July 2026, offering the successful candidate long-term security in a supportive environment.
The role blends whole-class teaching (typically covering PPA time), small group interventions, and general in-class assistance. You will be working in a well-structured Key Stage 2 setting, where your input will directly support learning progress, pupil engagement, and classroom continuity.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant who has previously delivered lessons and supported whole-class instruction.
Main Duties
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons during PPA or staff absence
- Provide targeted support in small group activities and core subjects
- Assist the class teacher with classroom management and organisation
- Help monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessments
- Support the social and emotional development of learners
- Prepare and adapt learning materials where needed
Candidate Profile
- HLTA Level 4 qualification preferred, or substantial classroom experience
- Confident leading lessons across the KS2 curriculum
- Solid classroom presence with excellent behaviour management
- Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative team player
- Strong grasp of progress tracking and inclusive teaching
