Start Date: May 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Daily Rate: From £90+ per day (depending on experience)
We are delighted to be partnering with a well-regarded, large mainstream Primary School in Southend to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term temporary position beginning in May 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing school environment where your skills and dedication will have a meaningful impact on the learning and wellbeing of a child with additional needs.

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), both within the classroom and during less structured parts of the day

Prior experience supporting children or young people with ASD or related needs

A solid understanding of effective behaviour management strategies

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

A calm, empathetic approach with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative

A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team

Experience working in an SEN setting or holding a relevant SEN qualification is advantageous, though not required.
Please note: All applicants must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one. If needed, we are happy to assist with your DBS application. The cost for a new DBS processed through Classroom Support is £63.70.
