Distribution Section Leader

A leading organisation in the food manufacturing and distribution sector is currently seeking a Distribution Section Leader in the FMCG Food Manufacturing sector to join their high-performing team based in Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Supervisor ideally with a background in FMCG or other warehouse operations to step into a fast-paced, people-focused role in a growing and supportive business. The working pattern is on 4 on/2 off pattern on a day shift of 6am - 3pm.

The Role:

As the Distribution Section Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and motivating a team of Multi-Skilled Operatives to achieve and exceed productivity and service level targets.
  • Promoting a safety-first culture while upholding the highest standards of H&S in a dynamic environment.
  • Coaching and developing team members to meet performance standards.
  • Collaborating with the Distribution Shift Manager to plan and adjust work patterns.
  • Working cross-functionally with other departments to align on KPIs and shared goals.
  • Acting as Deputy for the Distribution Shift Manager when required.
  • Driving continuous improvement and engagement through regular performance reviews and problem-solving initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a supervisory role within FMCG, warehouse, or food distribution
  • Ideally knowledge of food production/handling procedure
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate, coach and develop teams
  • Competent in identifying risks, implementing SOPs and driving performance
  • Comfortable with fast-paced, target-driven environments
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement mindset
