Summary

Deliver consultant level day-to-day medical care to hospice in-patients and patients accessing other Specialist Palliative Care services. Provide clinical leadership, education and development to the wider clinical team Provide leadership and participate as a member at the weekly in-patient multidisciplinary team meeting. Out-of-hours responsibilities for the Mid Notts and Bassetlaw area, including participation in the medical on call rota. Cover for colleagues annual leave and other authorised absences. Any responsibility which relates to a special interest. Educational and clinical supervision of trainee doctors, advanced clinical practitioners and supervision of Specialty Doctors. Training and supervision of Nurse Independent Prescribers. To participate in education and training junior doctors, medical students, hospice staff and volunteers. Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement projects and the Trusts clinical governance processes. Support research activity. Comply with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as stipulated by the Royal Colleges. To keep a portfolio of evidence, to have an annual appraisal and write a personal development plan (PDP) in line with GMC revalidation policies and procedures. Support and assist in the achievement of Trust objectives. Work with the trust and commissioners on the development of Specialist Palliative Care and End of Life Care services.
