Patient Care & Safety:Provide safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients before and after elective surgery, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and supporting early mobilisation. Pre- and Post-Operative Support:Prepare patients for surgery in accordance with clinical guidelines. Monitor recovery post-operatively, ensuring early identification and response to any complications. Medication Administration:Safely administer medications, including IV therapies and analgesia, in line with hospital policies and procedures. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, and discharge teams to ensure coordinated care and timely discharge planning. Patient Education & Advocacy:Educate patients and their families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care. Act as an advocate for patients needs and concerns. Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, care plans, and risk assessments in compliance with legal and hospital standards. Infection Control & Hygiene:Uphold strict infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment. Professional Development:Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ward.
