We are representing a forward-thinking and reputable law firm in Yorkshire, experiencing significant growth in their Clinical Negligence department in Leeds city centre. This expansion has created an exciting opportunity for a talented solicitor to join their dedicated team.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor with around 4 years PQE (Grade C) to manage a challenging and varied caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters. This role is a direct result of the increasing demand for services and offers the chance to contribute to a successful and growing practice. You will work on a diverse range of cases, from initial instruction through to resolution, including complex and high-value claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, including
investigations, gathering evidence, and liaising with medical experts.
- Drafting legal documents, including letters of claim, witness statements, and
schedules of loss.
- Conducting negotiations and participating in mediation and settlement discussions.
- Providing clear, empathetic, and pragmatic advice to clients.
- Adhering to strict deadlines and court procedures.
- Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of approximately 4 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in claimant
clinical negligence.
- A strong understanding of clinical negligence law and civil procedure rules.
- Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload independently and efficiently.
- Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.
- Exceptional client care and communication skills, with a sensitive and professional
approach.
- A proactive, organised, and detail-oriented work ethic.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
What They Offer:
- A competitive salary in the bracket of around £32,000 to £46,000, dependant on
experience.
- A vibrant and supportive working environment within a firm committed to
professional development.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression and ongoing training.
- A full-time role, though they are open to considering a part-time application for the
right candidate, as the team may offer some flexibility.
- A hybrid working model after a successful training period, typically involving 1 day
working from home and 4 days in the office, fostering a balanced work-life
approach. (Please note, hybrid working arrangements are not contractually
guaranteed but are current practice.)
- The chance to be part of a firm with a strong reputation and a commitment to client
success.
