A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.


The Community Occupational Therapy Team in Oldham includes Occupational Therapists, Moving and Handling Coordinators, Occupational Therapy Assistants, a Duty Officer and Admin. We provide assessment to Oldham residents of all ages with a wide variety of conditions living within the community.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will support the team to deliver our service with the aim of maximising patients function, independence and well-being in their own homes.

This role will allow you to develop your skills with a wide variety of patients, while working within a supportive environment. Our team is committed to providing CPD and learning opportunities including in-service training and robust clinical supervision. We also have a firm belief that the health and well-being of staff is fundamental in being able to provide compassionate care for patients.

In this role you will manage your own caseload of patients that require assessment for equipment and adaptations. The post holder should be passionate and motivated and be able to offer ideas to support service development.

Key Responsibilities of the Post:

- To provide assessments and recommend equipment, minor adaptations and non complex major adaptations as appropriate to meet identified needs.

- To be responsible for your own caseload with supervision from a qualified Occupational Therapist

- To work as a supportive member of the team with supervision.

- To be motivated to engage in developing their professional skills.

- To assess / provide standard assistive equipment, minor adaptations and non complex major adaptations (appropriate training will be provided).

- Access to a car or access to a means of mobility is essential for this role.
