dnata Catering UK, the world’s largest inflight caterer has a really exciting opportunity for a Administrators (Food Stores) to join their team in Crawley.
There is one vacancy at 40 hours per week,
This will be based at our UK catering unit, in Manor Royal.
What's the purpose of the role |
Using the relevant company and customer purchasing and inventory systems, as a Food Stores Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials are ordered and effectively managed within the required timescales meeting internal and external customer requirements, specifications and schedules
.
What will you be doing?
- Follow up on delivery queries, shortages etc. with suppliers
- Provide estimated usage levels
- Keep the operation informed on product issues/shortages
- Carry out investigations into delivery failures and put corrective actions into place
- Carry out stock counts and use information to manage ordering levels and prevent shortages
- Highlight any shelf-life issues to the operations team
- Act on spec menu change insuring correct products are ordered
- Liaise with the operations regarding menu and product changes promptly
- Ensure information is entered correctly on SAP and deal with troubleshoots promptly
- Reconcile theoretical and physical stock levels
- Ensure any quality issues are resolved with minimal impact on the customer
- Ensure period end stock takes are correctly completed and entered onto SAP

- Ensure all goods are received in line with due diligence and compliance targets
- Investigation of Substitutions and reporting actions/products to shift Manager
- Communicate issues and concerns to the Shift Manager as required
- Ensure effective waste control in line with best practice through trend analysis and subsequent reviewing and agreeing action plans in conjunction with Shift Manager
- Audit of food deliveries to ensure all Compliance standards are met as defined by the Vendor Rating System
- Agree corrective actions with appropriate personnel and reviewing effectiveness of actions
- Ensure Due Diligence paperwork is completed, reviewed, and actioned as required
- Ensure security processes are maintained so that security of equipment, personnel and stock may be assured
- Ensure that “Housekeeping” activities are undertaken as required
- Design, monitor, and review plans to implement changes to customer requirements
- Receipting delivery of orders and ensure good stock rotation to prevent product expiry
- Ensure packing operatives have the correct stock available
- Raise PO’s and send to suppliers.

What will you have?
- Experience of purchasing and inventory management within a fast moving and changing work environment.
- Ability to plan, organise and delegate effectively, with attention to detail working in a methodical and logical style
- Ability to deliver as directed within set targets with an understanding of cost and control management
- Ability to multi-task in a pressured environment and work to tight deadlines
- Demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal and non-verbal) and be able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Demonstrate the drive to operate to the highest of standards especially during periods of change
- Ability to solve problems, generate innovative solutions and make justified decisions that influence key stakeholders
- Flexibility to work outside of normal working pattern to cover when required
