We are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established, inclusive mainstream primary school in Bishop's Stortford. We're currently recruiting on their behalf for an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term, temporary basis starting in May 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a supportive school environment and provide one-to-one care for a pupil with Autism (ASD).

Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD, both in and out of the classroom
Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD, both in and out of the classroom

Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning strategies under the direction of the class teacher
Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning strategies under the direction of the class teacher

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour using your strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour using your strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills

Occasionally providing lunch cover as part of the wider support team
Occasionally providing lunch cover as part of the wider support team

Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment

✔️ Previous experience supporting children or adults with Autism or similar additional needs
✔️ A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviour and emotional needs
✔️ Strong understanding of SEN best practices and child development
✔️ A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or SEN qualification is advantageous, though not essential
✔️ Commitment to full-time, term-time working hours
✔️ Willingness to contribute flexibly to school routines and activities
