Job Title: GCSE Tutor - GCSE Maths, English & Science Support
Location: Wimbledon
Pay Rate: £25-£35 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 5-30 hours per week
Job Type: Part-Time | Temporary | In-Person and Online
You'll be supporting one student at a time with lessons split evenly between Maths, English and Science. The student benefits from routine, patience, and creative, adaptive teaching strategies that boost both confidence and academic outcomes. If you are more experience in one subject- you will only be focusing on that subject.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths, English and Science lessons tailored to SEN learning profiles.
- Adapt lesson content and pace to support emotional regulation and learning style.
- Support the student in developing subject knowledge, study skills and exam confidence.
- Build a trusting and consistent rapport to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers or professionals as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths, English or Science.
- Experience working with learners with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
- PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience with students who have Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.
