Summary
Once in a career opportunities don’t arise that often in the housing industry – and for Engineers that’s just as apt. There’s only so many 5* PLC businesses you can join and yeah, you might be ambitious, but when there’s an upper brass Technical team that’s been surgically sowed into their seats, how are you mean to dig yourself in?
This opportunity for an Engineer (or Senior) to join a brand-new housing business in Manchester city centre is unique in that the sky is the limit (almost literally with some of their portfolio builds) and so the only way is up. You’d be just the second appointment for a business that has big ambitions to shake up the housing market and as is often the case, first in, first to progress, no stuffy hierarchy pushing you down.
The role itself is a relatively standard Engineer role looking after volume housing sites, but due to the make-up of the business, there’s some very interesting elements in the existing staff you’ll be working with – we can talk through those.
However, the big sell on the sites themselves is that you’ll be joining RIGHT at the start of their first ‘official’ site (which is a million-pound house type – not so bad) and therefore with future developments, you’ll have a big say in how they pan out – no inheriting poorly planned sites.
The company itself is a brand-new division of what is a powerhouse in Manchester construction and it has the full backing of one of the owners who sees it becoming a national housebuilder. That said, they instil a team ethos and your working hours being your working hours – you don’t need to stay late to get ahead here. With an industry leading bonus of 20% guaranteed (and up to SEVENTY per cent) plus 45p a mile, there are genuinely some major USP’s in joining this company.
