Teacher Active is proud to be working with a primary school who is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temporary full-time basis starting 1 September 2025; the role includes 27.5 hours per week of classroom support along with 2.5 hours per week of lunchtime supervision duties and is offered as a one-year temporary post in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
The head teacher and governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is committed and passionate about primary education, in order to provide high quality support in a friendly and inclusive mainstream school.
The school are looking for someone who:
• Is able to work effectively as part of a team
• Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
• Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
• Has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
• Has experience of working in a school, ideally in both Foundation Phase and KS2
• Is able to support a pupil 1:1 and also pupils in small groups to help them achieve their educational goals
• Can offer creative and dynamic ways to engage a pupil in education
• Is compassionate and understanding
• Can enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning
• Will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
