What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a teacher, initially to work in Y1. This is an exciting opportunity to secure a teaching post at our popular school.
Longman’s Hill School is a caring, community primary school.
We have always prided ourselves on the positive ethos of the school. People who visit often comment on the lovely ‘feel’ the school has when they walk around. Our children are amazing- they are thoughtful, kind and caring.
At our school we have high expectations of everyone. We are ambitious in seeking to ensure all children are successful. We feel strongly that success comes in many forms, not just academic. With that in mind, at our school we provide rich opportunities for children to be successful in a number of ways. Longman’s Hill Community Primary School is a smaller than average primary school situated in Selby, North Yorkshire. Currently, we have approximately 194 children on roll in 7 classes (one per year group). We offer a caring, creative and stimulating environment in which the needs of every child are considered and catered for. Children’s well- being and their development of a love of lifelong learning are at the heart of everything we do. We are a THRIVE school and as such place children's emotional wellbeing highly on our agenda. .At Longman’s Hill CP School, we are committed to providing equality for all. The successful candidate will work within our close school community as a member of a friendly, committed staff in a highly supportive environment where teamwork is valued. We are looking for a teacher with experience of planning for and delivering the National Curriculum, who is keen to learn.
Our pupils are happy, courteous and well behaved with a love for learning.

Has the ability to work with pupils with a range of needs
• Has high levels of resilience
• Has the ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
• Has excellent organisational skills
• Has the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
Has the ability to use their own initiative
Has experience of engaging children in learning
Has experience of supporting children to develop skills in reading, writing and maths.
Clearly understands their role in safeguarding children
This role is suitable for anyone who is looking to join a warm, caring and friendly team who is dedicated to providing an excellent education for children.
This post is initially offered on a one year fixed term contract but may be extended at the end of the fixed-term period.
