Summary
At Serco, we are proud to work on behalf of the Home Office to manage the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) in the North West. Our mission is to support vulnerable asylum seekers by providing safe, high-quality accommodation and essential services as they navigate the asylum process.
We are looking for a housing officer to join our dedicated team in Liverpool. This is a static role, meaning you’ll be based in a specific area, ensuring that properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with AASC standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a housing officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our service users. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting monthly property inspections to ensure compliance with AASC standards.

Managing on-boarding and withdrawal of properties in line with local operating procedures.

Identifying and reporting property faults, ensuring they are categorised correctly for appropriate action.

Performing minor property repairs, using the tools and training provided.

Handling operational cash administration, such as topping up utility meters and processing emergency payments.

Responding to and resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
What We’re Looking For
We value people skills as much as property experience. If you have a strong work history dealing with people face-to-face, thrive in a fast-paced, demanding role, and can remain calm under pressure, this role could be perfect for you.

Experience in housing or property management is beneficial, but not essential – full training is provided.

You must have strong communication skills and be confident in managing challenging situations (e.g., anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, or medical needs).

Due to the nature of the role, Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) security clearance and a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check are required (subject to Home Office approval).
