SIXTOWNS Distillery & Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our growing venue. Based at the World of Wedgwood in Barlaston, this is a hands-on leadership role within a dynamic hospitality business that combines premium bar service, events, and guided distillery experiences.
You will work closely with SIXTOWNS' leaders to ensure high service standards, staff support, and excellent customer experiences.
Main Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily bar service and actively serve customers
• Assist in managing events, private hires, and experience bookings
• Support staff rotas, shift management, and team supervision
• Handle stock control, supplier communication, and ordering
• Manage cash handling, till reconciliation, and banking procedures
• Uphold customer service standards and resolve guest issues professionally
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management when required
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience in a hospitality management role (e.g. Assistant Manager, Supervisor)
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
• Excellent knowledge of bar service and drink preparation, including cocktails
• Experience in stock management, ordering, and cash handling
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a customer-first attitude
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (licensing, food safety, health & safety)
Desirable:
• Interest in premium spirits or previous experience in mixology
• Basic understanding of distillery operations (training provided)
Working Hours:
• Weekend availability required
