Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Assistant Technical Manager - Electrical to support the operation and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical systems within the Portsmouth University NHS Hospital. In this role, you will assist the Technical Manager in ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, managing maintenance schedules, and providing technical support to maintain a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the provision of 24-hour maintenance services for electrical systems.

Support the adherence to Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs) and statutory legislation.

Act as a supporting Authorised Person for assigned electrical systems under the guidance of the Technical Manager.

Aid in overseeing the daily management of engineering systems, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed on time and in accordance with operational standards.

Provide technical support for complex electrical infrastructure issues.

Help monitor equipment maintenance records and assist with prompt follow-up actions.

Support the management of external subcontractors and ensure competency checks are in place.

Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
ONC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent.

Experience supporting Hard FM Services, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Strong electrical background, with 18th Edition BS7671 certification.
-
Experience assisting with the management of HV and LV systems.
-
Knowledge of HTM, HBN, and relevant British Standards.
