Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a person with physical disabilities and Autism living in the Lanark area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Attending to personal care needs (showering, toileting and skin care)
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Moving and assisting – occasional manoeuvering of a powered wheelchair, using tracking hoist
· Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle.
Must take a proactive approach to support and assist individual to get involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are swimming, music, cooking and baking, crafting (various) and socialising.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog, cats, a bearded dragon and a corn snake in the home.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a respectful and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Guaranteed permanent position of 16 hours per week after initial probationary period is completed
Days and times:
Set shifts at set times OR weekly rota
Typically – Weekdays: 9am – 4pm
Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview
Hourly rate:
£12.60 per hour
