An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Dunfermline. They are known for delivering high-quality, reliable products across various industries.

The Role

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Support engineering activities, including requirements analysis, sales support, specification and design, manufacturing support, testing, and ongoing technical support.
  • Contribute to new product development and improvements to existing systems.
  • Perform calculations to support design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and review CAD models and drawings (PTC Creo 8 and AutoCAD).
  • Analyse customer requirements and provide technical input for sales and estimating.
  • Write technical procedures and product manuals.
  • Support prototype development and testing.
  • Occasional travel for on-site support and troubleshooting.

The Candidate

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in mechanical component design, particularly for steel fabrication and assembly.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as welding, machining, casting, and forging.
  • Experience with manufacturing drawings in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Skills in 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and FEA (ANSYS Workbench).
  • Working knowledge of Mathcad Prime 8.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and relevant applications).
  • Valid EU passport or UK work authorisation.
