Summary

Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Bishops Stortford

Salary: Up to £55k, depending on experience

Are you a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for innovation and process improvement? An established, industry-leading aerospace engineering firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join its dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Introduction & Development (NPI & NPD):

  • Lead technical evaluations of aircraft component repairs and overhauls

  • Conduct reverse engineering of component assemblies

  • Develop and validate alternative tooling designs

  • Deliver NPD projects on time and within budget

  • Produce technical documentation, drawings, and analysis

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and procedure creation

Sustaining Engineering:

  • Provide hands-on technical support for equipment failures and non-conformances

  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Design or upgrade tools and equipment in line with test specifications and budgets

  • Apply industrial engineering methods to identify efficiency opportunities

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support operational excellence and lean initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, GEMBA, 5S)

  • Champion process standardisation and cost-saving projects

Essential Qualifications & Skills:
  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline

  • Strong knowledge of technical drawings and engineering documentation

  • Understanding of AS9100 is essential, while CAA/EASA & FAA Part 145 and Part 21G standards experience is desirable.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage projects effectively
