Position Details:
- Role: Teaching Assistant
- Location: Coventry.
- Days: 3 days per week (Tue / wed / Thru )
- Hours: Full-time (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate : 20 to 25 hr
Skills & experience
- Key Requirement: Strong classroom management experience, particularly with students who have learning and behavioural difficulties
- Previous experience in the UK education sector
- An Enhanced DBS (Adult or Adult & Child) registered on the Update Service
- For this role will need to use their previous experience to work closely with students who have ADHD, Dyslexia and other complex needs.
- You will need to be enthusiastic, patient, and an approachable person with a passion for learning and teaching and can provide personal care.
What will you be doing in a typical day?
- Supporting students in accessing the curriculum
- Taking responsibility for personal care duties as and when required
- Supervising students both inside and outside the classroom; assisting with break times, lunch times and trips as well as extra-curricular activities
- Using positive strategies and good behaviour management to ensure the safety and well-being of students
- Working closely with class teachers and other professionals towards achieving the best outcomes for students
What skills would serve you well in this role?
- The most important skill is a positive mindset and a passion for supporting students; the school will train you as part of the role
- Experience of working with or vulnerable people in a previous role; this could include in schools and also in settings such as health care, social care, community or youth work
- It is essential that you have good emotional intelligence and empathy for students
