SEN Learning Support Assistant

Are you a patient, caring graduate looking to support a young child with additional needs in a nurturing school environment?

*** SEN Learning Support Assistant
*** September 2025 to July 2026
*** £82–£100 per day
*** ‘Good’ primary school, Wolverhampton
*** 1:1 support to a boy in EYFS who has Down Syndrome

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work 1:1 with a Reception-aged boy who has Down Syndrome, supporting his development across communication, social interaction, and early learning skills. You'll help him access play-based learning, follow routines, and engage positively with his peers. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you'll implement tailored strategies, use visual supports, and promote his independence within the EYFS framework.

You’re a compassionate, calm and reliable graduate with a genuine interest in SEN and early childhood development. You may have experience working with children in a nursery, school or care setting. You’ll need to be observant, hands-on, and ready to adapt to the child’s needs throughout the day. Any knowledge of speech and language strategies, Makaton, or working with children with Down Syndrome would be an asset.

This ‘Good’ primary school in Wolverhampton has a warm, inclusive ethos and a strong focus on early years support. Staff are collaborative and experienced in working with children with additional needs. The school offers excellent mentoring for support staff and values the role of LSAs in making a lasting difference to pupils’ lives.

If you’re ready to start a rewarding role and gain experience in a supportive SEN setting, apply today.

Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
