Job Overview
Set up and adjust production polyurethane and foam machines and monitor them for most economical use and report issues immediately to the production manager. Load chemicals into machines either by hand or using lifting equipment and fork lift trucks. Act as a link in a chain that involves manufacturing processes and other operators. Test and measure finished products, and record activities and manufacturing levels.
To carry out all activities within the production area, including dressing off components to a good quality standard, being able to control goods coming into the company and checking and allocating to the correct projects, to also carry out packing duties and to learn all the correct documentation to accompany this task.
Main Responsibilities
Comprehensive operation of production equipment using standard operating procedures. Running the polyurethane and foam production machines and understand their operation, maintenance, calibration, and housekeeping.
Comprehensive operation of production equipment using standard operating procedures, for example, oven, heated table, degassing unit, compressor
Broad understanding of company products and is able to produce standard company products, for example, VBR’s Bend Stiffeners and Seals.
Complete job cards, maintenance records, calibration forms, scrap records, ncr’s and housekeeping forms to a high standard.
Comprehensive understanding of mould maintenance, including cleaning, priming and assembly.
Basic reading and understanding drawings to enable product inspection using various measuring equipment
Assist the Production Manager in achieving scheduling requirements
Assist engineers in testing activities, on and off site.
Maintaining mould register, tools, vehicles, lifting equipment, fork lift and production equipment ensuring any defects are reported immediately to the production manager.
Packing goods ready for shipment, including, assembling/building up components, product inspection and record keeping.
Manual handling is required in the role and therefore an understanding of manual handling techniques and proper use of lifting equipment is required.
