Summary
We are currently looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Weekend Children’s Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated care team. This role involves supporting children with autism, challenging behaviours, complex care needs, and epilepsy in both home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing personal care and support with daily living activities
Offering emotional support and companionship
Assisting with community outings and promoting social inclusion
Managing and supporting challenging behaviours in a professional and empathetic manner
Following individual care plans and working closely with families
Monitoring and responding to epileptic seizures as needed
Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns
Requirements:
UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable car (essential)
Experience working with children with autism, epilepsy, and complex care needs
Ability to support individuals with challenging behaviour
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A caring, patient, and resilient nature
Willingness to undergo further training if required
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
Desirable but not essential:
Care qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care)
Previous community care experience
