Main Purpose of the Role:

To deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils, ensuring all children make progress academically, socially, and emotionally. You will contribute to the life of the school as a reflective, committed, and professional practitioner, supported through a robust induction and mentoring programme.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching and Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Set high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, and personal development
• Use a range of inclusive teaching strategies to support individual needs and learning styles
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils
• Create a positive learning environment where pupils feel safe, challenged, and supported

Classroom and Behaviour Management

• Maintain an organised, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a calm and productive classroom climate
• Promote the school’s values, vision, and ethos in all interactions

Professional Development

• Engage fully in the school’s ECT induction programme
• Work closely with an assigned mentor and take responsibility for ongoing self-development
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews

Collaboration and Contribution

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, assess, and moderate work
• Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and wider stakeholders
• Contribute to wider school activities, including clubs, events, and school improvement initiatives

Safeguarding and Welfare

• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct

Promote the wellbeing of all pupils and contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture
