We have an exciting development opportunity for a qualified nurse to join our busy MADU team. We are looking for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU).
MADU is a 16 bedded unit and has facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non-invasive ventilation. We provide level one and level two care to patients with a variety of conditions from GI bleeds, DKA, type 1 and type 2 respiratory failure requiring non-invasive ventilation, heart failure, severe electrolyte imbalance, central lines and arterial lines monitoring, amongst others.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic individual with:
- strong interpersonal skills
- experience in Respiratory, Acute Medicine, ED and or HDU/ITU Nursing
- some managerial and team leader experience
- enthusiasm for caring for acutely ill medical patients.

In partnership with senior multi professional colleagues, maintain and develop a flexible high dependency service that is able to respond to trust requirements.
To be responsible for the development and leadership of the clinical nursing team to ensure the highest standard of care is met in line with local and national recommendations.
To take leadership of the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care within the nursing team on a shift-to-shift basis, responding in an advisory capacity to acute changes in patient condition.
To act as a credible clinical role model promoting a patient-centred approach to care, demonstrating advanced clinical practice skills and theoretical knowledge in caring for the complex needs of the critically ill patient.
