About the role:

We are looking to appoint a BDS Course Lead within the School of Medicine and Dentistry to manage and deliver teaching in the graduate entry programme. The postholder will lead on the provision of professional leadership and management of the course and will also be expected to liaise with the leads of the other professionally regulated courses in order to deliver an integrated approach to dental teaching.

The School has purpose-built facilities incorporating modern phantom-head training areas and dedicated lecture and seminar rooms. Clinical experience is taught across Lancashire in our dental education centres and extended training practices, giving students excellent clinical opportunities in areas of high need.

About you:

The BDS Course Lead will be expected to provide professional and collaborative leadership to build on past successes and ensure consistent, excellent standards through a supportive and open culture. This will be underpinned by clear communication and robust quality assurance of standards.

The successful postholder will have substantial academic operational management experience within higher education, be able to operate in a structured yet complex and challenging environment with good negotiation and decision-making skills, along with a strong academic track record in Dentistry.

A postgraduate qualification in an appropriate discipline and full registration with the General Dental Council are essential requirements of this role.
