Weekend Kitchen Assistant
Location - Chestnut Court - Staines
Salary - £12.60 per hour
Permanent – 8 hours a week - Saturday & Sunday – 9.30 – 1.30pm

Role Overview
To provide a comprehensive catering service, ensuring we deliver high quality meals to clients living in sheltered accommodation and/or the wider community. This role is to work in an extra care setting operating within the catering service to deliver excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities / deliverables
* Food preparation. Food service operative preparing packed teas and service meals to residents. Responsible for checking resident food profiles for allergies, preferences and IDDSI rating. Adhering to Company and Environmental Health Standards.
* Responsible for upholding the cleanliness of all aspects within the kitchen, storerooms and kitchen office. Washing uniforms on-site and maintaining a tidy, extensive supply.
* Assisting the Chef Manager with deliveries. Stock rotation and removing any out-of-date items. Communicating when products running low.
* Carry out Health, Safety and Food Hygiene standards checks as directed by A2Dominion Catering Standards and ensuring that all practices meet the statutory regulations, including the Registered Homes Act 1984, and A2Dominion’s Health and Safety policy.
* Supporting the Chef Manager in preparing and responding to inspections or audits by external authorities and other bodies to fulfill reporting requirements.
* Taking responsibility for acting up as chef, if required and once induction is completed. Ability to take responsibility for restaurant front of house service delivery and maintain the standards set by the Catering Manager
* Responsible for arranging and managing mandatory training requirements set by A2Dominion.

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (Grades A* - C)
* Cooking experience
* Knowledge of Extra Care home environment
* Ability to engage with elderly vulnerable customers and their families
