The SEND Tribunal Officer WCR 4 is a critical role within our team, responsible for ensuring that the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) tribunal processes operate smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities
Manage and process cases submitted to the SEND Tribunal from initial referral to final decision.
Coordinate pre-hearing preparations, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and distributed timely.
Facilitate communication between parents, local authorities, and legal representatives to clarify processes and expectations.
Conduct hearings by presenting information, summarizing evidence, and ensuring all parties are heard fairly and respectfully.
Maintain accurate records of case proceedings, decisions, and outcomes in accordance with legal standards and organizational policies.
Provide guidance and support to parties involved in the SEND tribunal process, including advice on procedures and rights.
Monitor case progress, identify and address any delays or issues, and implement solutions to ensure timely resolutions.
Requirements
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in law, education, or a related field is preferred.
Strong understanding of SEND legislation and tribunal processes, including practical experience in similar roles.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex legal information clearly.
Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills with the capacity to assess evidence and make informed decisions based on legal principles.
Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by families with special educational needs.
Proficiency in using digital case management systems and standard office software for documentation and reporting.
