Summary

Are you an experienced Legal Cashier ready to take the next step in your career?
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join their busy finance team, with line management responsibilities and a key supporting role to their Finance Manager.

As the Legal Cashier, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily cashiering operations, ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal policies. You’ll manage and support a team of Legal Cashiers, providing mentorship, training, and performance oversight, while working closely with the Finance Manager on month-end processes, reconciliations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of Legal Cashier:

- Supervise and coordinate the workload of a team of Legal Cashiers.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of client and office account transactions.
- Oversee daily bank reconciliations and maintain compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
- Assist the Finance Manager with month-end reporting, audits, and ad hoc projects.
- Provide guidance on complex transactions and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with fee earners and other departments on financial queries and procedures.
- Support in identifying process improvements and implementing best practices.

About You:

- Proven experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally at a senior level.
- Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and communication abilities.
- Comfortable using legal accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- A positive, hands-on attitude with the ability to lead by example.
