Summary

Behaviour Mentor - Chesterfield (Alternative Provision)
Location: Hasland, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S41
Salary: £24,763 - £27,002 per annum (FTE, pro-rata for term-time)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term to Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Driving Licence: Essential - applicants must have access to a vehicle insured for business use

At Long Term Futures, we work closely with a number of specialist and alternative provisions across Derbyshire. We are currently recruiting for a committed and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral support team at a well-established alternative provision in Hasland, Chesterfield. This academy provides high-quality, structured education for children who have been permanently excluded or are at serious risk of exclusion from mainstream school.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building strong relationships, has the patience to support pupils with complex behavioural needs, and wants to make a positive difference every day.

The Behaviour Mentor will play a vital part in helping pupils re-engage with learning and manage their behaviour more effectively. You will:

Act as a key adult and trusted support figure for some of the academy's most vulnerable pupils

The Hasland site offers a nurturing, trauma-informed environment designed to meet the needs of pupils from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. The provision focuses on rebuilding pupils' confidence, relationships, and readiness to learn, with a strong emphasis on safety, trust, and routine. Staff work closely with families and external agencies to ensure holistic support, and the school has a well-established reputation for transforming life chances.

This is a rewarding but demanding role, and we are looking for someone who can remain calm under pressure, is solution-focused, and genuinely passionate about helping young people succeed despite their challenges.
