Salary: Leadership Scale (Outer London) L8 – L12 (£58,959 – £65,010) per annum

Are you an inspiring and experienced Science teacher ready to take on a strategic leadership role? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead our dynamic and high-performing Science department in Havering.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of science education in our school. As Head of Department, you will provide clear direction, drive curriculum excellence, and lead a team of passionate subject specialists to raise student achievement across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership for the Science department, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and outcomes.

Lead curriculum planning, development, and innovation across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
•
Line-manage and support a team of science teachers and technicians.
•
Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions where necessary.
•
Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and professional growth.

Has a strong track record of outstanding science teaching and middle or senior leadership experience.

Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and curriculum insight across all science disciplines.
