The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of
market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK
and Europe.
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our busy and growing organisation. As a Structural Engineer, you will be
responsible for delivering high-quality structural solutions across concept and detailed design stages. You'll work closely with
our Sales and Design teams, ensuring the structural integrity and compliance of our cold-formed steel structures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivery of concept and detailed structural schemes to Sales and Design.
* Calculations of cold-formed steel structures to prevailing standards (EN codes and storage industry standards).
* Ability to explain calculations.
* Involvement in product tests & interpretation of results.
* Develop software to standardise calculation processes.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
* Graduate with MEng/BEng/BSc or equivalent in Structural or Civil Engineering.
* Structural design experience.
* Demonstrate an understanding of steelwork design codes.
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to work well within a team
Desirable:
* Experience with thin gauge steel.
* Experience within the storage industry.
* Proficient user of CAD
