Calm, fun-loving young disabled girl who adores Disney and Peppa Pig looking for a female Personal Assistant (PA) who can support her to play at home and outside.
The job will involve tagging along with mum to go swimming, as well as other leisure activities.
You will also occasionally pick up the girl’s siblings from school and stay until mum comes home.
It is essential that the postholder has experience of working with disabled children and is a member of the protecting vulnerable groups (PVG) scheme. Postholder must also have a full driving licence valid in the UK and be willing to use their own vehicle at work.
As the girl is non-verbal, knowledge of PECS would be useful. The job involves keeping her safe with constant supervision. There are also personal care tasks.
The post is for 6 to 12 hours per week. Some flexibility is required. The shifts will be a minimum of three hours long. The shifts could occur Tuesday and Wednesday after school, 1500 to 1800 as well as Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday.
Please apply as soon as possible either by sending in your CV with covering letter or completing and returning an application form.
For more information and an application form please obtain an application pack. This can be downloaded from the recruitment section of www.lothiancil.org.uk or by emailing pajobs@lothiancil.org.uk and quoting reference SM ML.
