An exciting opportunity has emerged in our Highways and Transport service for Senior Transport Planners to join our forward-thinking team!
This is your chance to step into a strategic role where your expertise will directly shape the future of our community's transport infrastructure and play a key part in the implementation of our recently adopted Local Transport Plan 4. If you're passionate about transport planning and ready to take on challenging projects that make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you'll shape transport policies, strategies and initiatives and lead diverse projects that align with our authority's goals. You’ll create and manage business cases for major transport projects and schemes, maximising the Council’s success when bidding for competitive funding opportunities at a national level.
We’re seeking a candidate with a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a transport planning-related field and at least three years of post-qualification experience ideally in a local authority setting. The ideal candidate will have:
A deep understanding of transport planning issues.
Extensive knowledge of external funding sources and co-funding opportunities.
A proven track record in contributing to policy development.
Strong project management skills, with experience in delivering complex programmes or projects.
While not essential, experience and knowledge of working within the rail sector would be a valuable asset.
Join our team and help shape the future of our transport infrastructure.
