This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse? Torus, commissioned by St
Helens Council, provides vital support across the borough - including through our Safe2Speak Domestic Abuse Refuge. We are now
expanding our refuge provision to ensure more individuals and families in need of accommodation-based support can access the help
they need.
We’re looking for a Refuge Coordinator to help shape and develop our new service, and play a key role in its day-to-day operation.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, person-centred team providing safe, supportive accommodation to those
experiencing domestic abuse.
What you'll be doing:
* Support the refuge team leader with the development and implementation of a new refuge service for victims of domestic abuse.
* Support with the day-to-day operations of the service.
* Support with the review of refuge policies and procedures and case management practices.
* Embed new and best practice across refuge services.
* Work with key stakeholders to ensure high quality accommodation and support is delivered to individuals and families accessing
the service.
Skills & Experience:
* Degree level education, or equivalent or demonstrable experience
* CIH Level 4 or willingness to work towards
* Extensive knowledge of supported housing and domestic abuse services including Supporting People requirements.
* Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding requirements and legislation
* Excellent IT skills.
* Extensive knowledge of industry best practice and the ability to integrate into policy, procedures, and processes.
* Experience of performance management including setting, agreeing, and monitoring standards.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation in supported housing.
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview.
Additional Information:
Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:
* Right to work verification
* Qualification certificate check
* 2x Completed references
* OH Health Questionnaire – Fit For Work
* DBS check (if required for role)
* Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s
