We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom and centre, working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met. This position requires you to work 4 days a week, 08.00-15.30, for 38 weeks a year.
Job overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll provide personalised SEN provision, supporting students in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you’ll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.
Job requirements
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
