This post is to support UHCW and the mobile lung screening service across Warwickshire.

The post holder will be expected to travel to various site locations across Warwickshire to perform duties.

Performfull range of imaging examinations in CT across sites consistently to a high standard ensuring compliance with imaging protocols.

Manage radiographic, technical, admin & clerical staff and students within CT Units

Liaise with other staff, and to be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the area/department in accordance with departmental protocols, providing management guidance during the absence of the Lead Radiographer.

• To perform CT imaging, in line with governmental and departmental protocols, working both alone and within radiology and multidisciplinary teams.
• To check patient identification and documentation, and ensure the appropriate radiographic examinations are carried out in accordance with departmental protocols and clinical requests, especially implementing departmental safety protocols
• Operating static scanners assessing patient's needs adapt and modify imaging techniques according to the patient's condition. Attending to patients' welfare and safety at all times.
• To evaluate scanned images taken for diagnostic quality, and alert clinicians of any abnormality when appropriate.
• To participate in the departmental Quality Assurance programme to ensure the efficient operation of the highly technical equipment, and to ensure compliance with best practice especially with reference to minimising radiation exposures within CT.
• To be familiar with, understand and apply the principles of Radiation Safety, both nationally and locally regulated or protocol led.
• To give theoretical instruction, practical guidance, and supervision to less experienced staff, Student Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and trainees.
• To assist with the practical experience of newly inducted staff
• To participate in imaging risk management and quality/audit programme and to undertake duties commensurate towards achievement of ISAS accreditation. Attend Radiology Governance meetings and to report all incidents, to include all radiation and drug error incidents in accordance with the Trust DATIX procedures and local operating policies and procedures.
• To participate in the full shift system including nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays in line with the departmental agreement, to support full service delivery.
