We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and forward-thinking person ​and​ we are excited to be recruiting a Support Worker to support F within Plymouth.



About the Role:​​

F is a young woman we have transitioned into her very own home. She is very intelligent, caring and sociable and very creative and loves to make things out of clothing, she also likes to redesign her clothing by drawing designs on them. F loves her food and likes to cook and go out into her garden on her trampoline.​​

F enjoys drives in her car, going to charity shops and hunting for a bargain. She also enjoys spending time with animals, going to the park, beach, discos and church. Some other hobbies can include holidays, educational activities.

F has autism and pathological demand avoidance so needs strong sympathetic support who will take the time to understand her and support her in the best way for her. She likes to have confident, consistent support to enable her to build relationships and trust with them. F is usually willing to try new things if communicated to her well using a combination of verbal, pictures, objects of reference, videos etc. Social stories and daily visual planners work well.​

You will work as part of a team that enables F to direct her life by having opportunity, choice, and control and you will role model outstanding care and support to meet F’s needs. You will be passionate about promoting her independence, and maintaining and promoting life skills, as well as supporting F with her health and well-being needs and requirements.​​​

*F will receive 2:1 support and full training will be provided. We are looking for a driver with Full UK Driving license (access to a vehicle is not essential).

For occupational requirement reasons we are looking to appoint a Female only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9). ​

About the usual working pattern:​ Shifts are days with a sleep-ins. The 2 week Rota Pattern is:

Week 1​​

Wednesday 9:00am – 7:00pm ​
Week 2 ​

Thursday 9:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday 9:00am – 7:00pm
