Safeguarding Children Practitioner Post
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed health professional to join Kingston and Richmond Foundation Trust’s (KRFT) Safeguarding Children’s Team as a full-time band 7, Safeguarding Children Practitioner.
You need to be a Registered Paediatric Nurse and /or Health Visitor with knowledge and experience of acute/community health services as you will be working across Kingston hospital and Richmond community to ensure safeguarding practice and continuum of care for babies, children and young people. The role encompasses promoting a positive culture of safeguarding within the Trust to ensure it is part of everyone’s everyday practice.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of safeguarding services supporting the Trust’s Named Nurse / Professional and Named Doctor for Safeguarding Children as per guidance as set out within the Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, Children’s Act 1998 and 2004, Kingston and Richmond Safeguarding Partnership (KRSCP) procedures and other national and local legislation and policy.
You will work closely with the Named Nurse / professional ensuring that staff can access advice, support and education, in relation to safeguarding children, when needed in a timely manner. Promoting a positive culture of safeguarding within the Trust to ensure it is part of everyone’s everyday practice.
The post holder will be required to contribute towards policy development and review, deliver supervision and training, within the Trust. You will be expected to participate in audits and Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and represent the hospital by attending safeguarding children’s meetings at Local Safeguarding Children Partnership subgroups. The post will require the need for flexible working across both sites (hospital and community), as required to meet the needs of the service.
