Please note in regards to the location of this role, this is a peripatetic role across The Central, Southern & Channel Islands Division headquarters which is split between an office in Maidenhead and an office in Southampton Sholing. You will be required to travel there at least one day a week as well as visiting various locations across the Division as required. The Division covers Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Channel Islands, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire plus the city of Salisbury.Working hours: Minimum of 35 hours per week (Flexible approach - Mon to Sun work pattern) Interview Date: 1 July 2025 We are looking to recruit a Divisional Children's Worker to provide practical knowledge and expertise in the development and delivery of the children's work strategy and enable local corps and centres to raise leaders and children who are disciples of Jesus in our tradition of social change and justice. The Division covers Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Channel Islands, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire plus the city of Salisbury.Key responsibilities:Equipping and inspiring children to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.Equipping and empowering children's leaders to enhance their communities and engage with children and the issues that affect them.Growing The Salvation Army's work with children through effective communication throughout the division.Enabling children to experience 'Fullness of life with Jesus' in broader contexts through creative events and residential opportunities.Contributing into the planning and review process for the programmes and activities across the division.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:A degree with relevant children's work qualification and/or excellent knowledge and experience in the discipleship of children, leadership and mission with children and their leaders.Proven experience of Salvation Army children's programmes and structures and the knowledge of designing, implementing, and improving programmes.Good communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and stakeholders.A full UK driving licence (Fleet Car included)This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
