We are seeking a proactive and organised Community Hub and Volunteer Coordinator to deliver and lead multi-agency Veterans Regroup hubs across six Cornwall locations. You’ll lead and co-ordinate additional services at our four existing hubs and launch two new ones in Liskeard and Penzance, creating safe, inclusive spaces for veterans, serving personnel, operational qualified seafarers, and their families.

This hands-on role involves coordinating logistics, supporting volunteers, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the project’s long-term sustainability. You’ll promote health and wellbeing, reduce isolation, and improve access to services across the Armed Forces community.

Key Responsibilities

• Hub Management: Organise and oversee six hubs, specifically with leading and co-ordinating additional services at our four existing hubs and leading the launch and setup of two new hubs in Penzance and Liskeard. The role includes booking venues, undertaking risk assessments, insurance, paperwork (sign-in/out sheets, hub registration forms), organise refreshments, first aid cover, ensuring all venues are fit for purpose.
• Operations: Oversee day-to-day delivery of Veterans Regroup hubs, ensuring health and safety and policy compliance.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, induct, and support volunteers. Develop volunteer roles, packs, and retention strategies.
• Marketing & Promotion: Promote hubs through PR, social media, flyers, and outreach. Develop themed events and raise awareness.
• Digital Communications: Update the Veterans Regroup and Smart Savings websites and social platforms. Maintain an online event calendar.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with the NHS, Cornwall Council, Armed Forces charities, and local organisations to improve hub services.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track attendance and outcomes, collect data, and report on KPIs to demonstrate impact.
• Events: Attend/deliver Armed Forces community events. Weekend work may be required.
• Meetings: Organise weekly internal team meetings and quarterly partnership reviews.
• Community Engagement: Set up local volunteer committees and peer support groups. Encourage participation and enable access to transport for those with mobility or financial barriers.
• Sustainability: Support funding bids and help plan fundraising activities to sustain the project.
• Safeguarding & Compliance: Adhere to GDPR, safeguarding, and environmental policies.
• One-to-One Support: Offer advice, referrals, and casework to support individual needs at the hubs.
• Travel: Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Training: Undertake any relevant training.
