Job Description – Nursery Practitioner

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner
Reports to: Nursery Manager
Location: Happy Choo Choo Nursery Holy Cross Church Ferrymead Gardens UB6 9NJ Greenford, London
Contract Type: Full time – 40 hours/week


Purpose of the Role:

To provide high-quality early years education and care for children aged 0-5 in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Support each child’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development.

Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, identifying any areas of concern.

Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and well-organized.

Work closely with parents and carers, providing updates and support.

Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies and procedures.

Work as part of a team to support all aspects of nursery operations.

Contribute to the planning and evaluation of the curriculum.

Promote equality, inclusion, and the well-being of every child.




Person Specification:

Qualifications & Experience:

Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years
Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting
Desirable:
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Safeguarding training
Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience with SEN or EAL children

Knowledge

Knowledge of EYFS and child development
Understanding of safeguarding procedures
