Agricultural Engineering Trainer | Nottingham – Site based | Full Time – 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm | Up to £36,000 per annum + bonus potential + 33 days Annual Leave

Our client is the trusted education partner for leading global automotive brands, land-based agricultural manufacturers, and a range of SMEs.

They are currently looking for an Agricultural Engineering Trainer to join their team training John Deere apprentices. The successful candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the delivery and assessment of training to groups of commercial delegates as well as learners enrolled in the John Deere Apprenticeship Program. They support all trainers to gain their teaching qualification and give access to countless courses and training opportunities, annual appraisals, annual salary reviews, development plans etc.

Their Saxondale site is modern, clean and settled in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside. The workshop has access to cutting edge technology and equipment from the leading agricultural manufacturer John Deere. They support all trainers to gain their teaching qualification and give access to countless courses and training opportunities, annual appraisals, annual salary reviews, development plans etc.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Previous experience as an Agricultural Technician / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter
• Level 3 NVQ or a relevant engineering degree, such as agricultural engineering or a related field such as mechanical, environmental, or electrical engineering would be beneficial
• Technical experience working with land-based agricultural equipment
• Excellent command of English and Maths – minimum grade C
• A full UK driving license and own transport are essential
• HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) license/Class 2 or Category C license would be beneficial but not essential
• A sound technical background in agricultural and/or turf products and systems, such as engines, electronics and hydraulics would be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge of the learning and development process, including areas such as instructional and presentational skills, needs assessment, adult learning theory and curriculum development
• Previous experience in developing and delivering training would be beneficial
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/365

What will your role look like?

• Arrange and conduct skills assessments, update training courses and maintain records for all delegates
• Maintenance and development of training aids, workshop facilities and resources
• Promote efficient use of resources with particular emphasis on reducing the detrimental effects of such resource use on the environment
• Promote a safe working environment in accordance with current legislation
• Ensure all documentation is completed fully, following all guidelines in accordance with company policy
• Deliver and manage all components of delegate progress – marking work, providing feedback, identifying and reporting concerns to your line manager (the Centre Manager) and working with your wider team to ensure that all support requirements for delegates are met
• Contribute to the process of continual improvement
• Participate fully in the quality assurance activities and audits
• Actively promote Equality and Diversity following company policy to ensure compliance and that no individual is discriminated against
• Keep up to date with technical and academic knowledge
• Maintain personal CPD by attending/completing all training as required
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all delegates and staff
