Learning Support Assistant - Newcastle (Flexible/Full-Time/Part-Time)

Competitive daily rates | Guaranteed pay scheme | Immediate start available

Looking for a teaching role where you're supported, valued, and part of something bigger than just an agency?

We're currently working with a fantastic Secondary School in Newcastle that's looking for a Learning Support Assistant. Whether you want full-time consistency or flexible part-time options, we have opportunities that suit your lifestyle and professional goals.

Why work with us?

We know that finding the right school, support, and balance matters. That's why our approach is built around you. As part of a recruitment service owned by schools themselves, you'll gain access to roles at trusted schools, with long-term support and a real focus on your professional growth.

What we offer:

As a valued teacher within our network, you'll benefit from:
- Competitive daily rates, paid weekly through PAYE
- Guaranteed Pay Scheme (subject to availability)
- Wellbeing support, including 24/7 GP and mental health counselling
- Ongoing CPD, including safeguarding and professional development
- A dedicated consultant directly liaising with schools
- Enhanced pension contributions
- Referral Bonuses for Teaching or Support Staff!

What you'll be doing:

· Providing dedicated one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional learning needs

· Assisting in the implementation of tailored support strategies and intervention programmes

· Creating a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all pupils

· Collaborating with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil development

· Observing, recording, and reporting on academic progress and emotional well-being

What we're looking for:

· Experience working in a school or educational setting, ideally supporting pupils with SEN

· A relevant qualification ( Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential

· A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to individual support

· Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to helping every pupil thrive

Safeguarding

At Schools Mutual Services, we regard safeguarding as a top priority. All staff must have a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to undergo the application process through ourselves. We also require valid education safeguarding; we provide this completely for free.
