Location: Shepshed
Basic Salary: £43,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime available
Extras: 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays (option to buy 4 more) | Overtime at 1.5x | Double Pay on Sundays | Private Healthcare | Pension
Our client is looking for a talented and efficient HGV Technician with recognised qualifications to join their leading team. You'll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repair of HGVs while ensuring all work meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities for an HGV Technician
• Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnose and fix faults using EBS systems including HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE
• Accurately complete all compliance documentation
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and carry out safety checks
• Deliver work efficiently while meeting performance and quality expectations
• Follow health and safety regulations in the workshop
• Attend training courses such as IRTEC, BPW & SAF axle/brake systems, and tail lift maintenance
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician
Essential:
• HGV maintenance experience
• Industry standard qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ)
Desirable:
• HGV Class 1 driving licence
• IRTEC accreditation
• Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
• Welding certification
• Axle manufacturer training (BPW, SAF, JOST)
• Tail lift maintenance expertise
