Location: East Devon – covering Exeter, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, and Exmouth
Salary: Competitive hourly rate + mileage allowance
Contract Type: [Full-time 37 hours per week / Part-time: possible
Driving Required: Yes – valid driving licence and access to own vehicle essential
Job Description:
We are seeking a caring, motivated, and reliable Support Worker to join our dedicated team in the East Devon area. This rewarding role involves supporting individuals with mental health conditions and learning difficulties to live independently and access their local community and essential services.
You will work closely with clients across Exeter, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, and Exmouth, helping them to develop daily living skills and improve their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support clients in accessing community services, healthcare, and appointments
• Promote and enable independent living skills, including meal preparation, budgeting, and household tasks
• Offer practical support with managing finances and medication
• Accompany individuals to appointments and assist with shopping if needed
• Help maintain a safe and clean home environment, including occasional domestic tasks
• Build positive, trusting relationships with clients to encourage confidence and personal development
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with organisational procedures
Requirements:
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (mileage allowance provided)
• Experience or interest in working with individuals with mental health challenges and/or learning disabilities
• A compassionate and patient nature with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and flexibly
• Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to promoting independence and dignity
