Are you an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong understanding of pressure vessels, piping, and filtration equipment? Ready to step into a key project role within a specialist manufacturing business?

A well-established engineering firm in Worcestershire/Kidderminster is seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing team. This position offers the chance to work across a range of technically challenging projects for global clients in the energy sector.

The Role:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of engineering projects — from initial design through to documentation and delivery. This includes developing cost-effective designs, managing material specifications, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce general arrangement and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Create 3D models for volume, interference, and geometry calculations

Ensure designs comply with relevant pressure vessel codes (e.g., ASME VIII) and legislation (e.g., PED)

Prepare material requisitions and standardise components where possible

Manage and monitor project progress from handover through to client delivery

Oversee and support junior team members, as needed

Liaise with internal teams, clients, third-party inspection bodies, and suppliers

Support the preparation of engineering documentation for submission

Candidate Requirements:

HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Experience with ASME pressure vessel design codes

Familiarity with manufacturing processes including welding, casting, and piping

Previous experience working with filtration, strainers, or pressure equipment (Oil & Gas experience desirable)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Ability to work as part of a team and meet project deadlines

Salary:
Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours:
37 hours per week with flexible start/finish times. Core hours must be covered daily (Monday–Thursday: 8 hours, Friday: 5 hours)
