Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Are you a graduate looking to build experience supporting children with autism in a mainstream primary setting?

*** Graduate Learning Support Assistant
*** September 2025 to July 2026
*** £85–£100 per day
*** 3-Form Entry Primary School, Wolverhampton
*** 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 4 with autism

The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work one-to-one with a Year 4 pupil with autism, supporting them throughout the school day. You’ll help them stay focused in class, navigate transitions, and manage emotional or sensory challenges. You’ll follow an individual support plan, adapt resources to suit their needs, and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress. Your consistency, calm presence, and positive attitude will make a big difference to this pupil’s school experience.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate with a strong interest in SEN and child development. You may be considering a future in teaching, psychology, or therapy. You’ll need to be empathetic, reliable, and able to build rapport with children. Experience working with young people—especially in a support or SEN setting—is highly desirable. You’ll need to be observant, patient, and ready to respond to individual needs with flexibility and care.

The School
This large, 3-form entry primary in Wolverhampton is known for its inclusive ethos and supportive staff culture. With a well-established SEN team and strong leadership, the school provides an excellent environment for graduates to gain practical classroom experience. The team works closely with parents and external professionals to provide high-quality, consistent support tailored to each child’s needs.

If you’re ready to gain meaningful SEN experience and support a child in making real progress, apply today.

Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
