At Cavendish Nuclear we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Communications & Project Assistant at our Hinkley Point C site.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role
As a Communications & Project Assistant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will support in the MEH Project Office, responsible for implementing communications tools that will grow productivity and efficiency within the organisation, and consolidating information that will enable the team to work more effectively.

Day-to-day, you'll work cross-functionally and collaboratively to produce presentations, facilitate online webinars, developing engaging content and organising online events.

  • Ensure timely delivery of the MEH Weekly Highlights and Quarterly Newsletters
  • Provide regular contributions to The Point newspaper (HPC wide publication)
  • Successfully execute events, workshops, and webinars, including conducting post-event evaluations
  • Develop social media content to support recruitment and enhance brand visibility
  • Manage content for the MEH Alliance website.

Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based at Hinkley Point C, amongst provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/on site and two days working from home.

Essential experience of the Communications and Project Assistant

  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • A varied graphic design portfolio spanning a variety of media and initiatives targeting multiple demographic segments
  • Excellent English language, grammatical style and proof reading
  • Strong ability in the use of Office365
  • Knowledge of Canva, Wordpress, or Adobe Creative Suite tools are desirable
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools

Qualifications for the Communications and Project Assistant

  • Minimum NVQ Level 4 or relevant experience
  • Qualifications relating to Photography and/or Graphic Design is advantageous
