The role
As a First Line Manager - CNC Turning, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Lead the team in precision manufacturing and CNC machining, driving excellence through leadership, innovation, and teamwork, whist playing a pivotal role in delivering critical defence projects.
Day-to-day, you'll undertake the daily planning of machining operations and management of industrial staff within a busy machine shop area to meet specified project delivery and ISO 9001 quality targets.
- Efficiently allocate and oversee Machine Shop resources.
- Plan daily operations to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor product quality and complete necessary contract documentation.
- Ensure staff compliance with Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
- Manage staff time, attendance, and workforce coordination.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the First Line Manager - CNC Turning
- Knowledge of milling, turning, and drilling operations across various applications.
- Experience in CNC programming for precision machining.
- Apprentice time served as a machine operator.
Qualifications for the First Line Manager - CNC Turning
- ONC or equivalent in engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience.
- This role would also suit those with a mechanical, electrical or manufacturing degree.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
